Sartoria Sagripanti was born in 1964 from the great passion of Franco Sagripanti, a native of the Marches and Roman of adoption, who dedicated all his efforts to grow this historic men’s tailoring in the historic center of Rome. Franco Sagripanti began his experience as a tailor in the most important tailors of Rome. At the age of 22 he opened his first laboratory in Rome, then moved to Via Condotti, in the historic center of the capital.
FRANCO SAGRIPANTI, ESTABLISHED MORE THAN 40 YEARS AGO
Franco Sagripanti was originally a men‘s tailor in some of the most important workshops in Rome. At the age of 22 he opened his first premises at Piazza Gimma, then moved to Via Condotti, in the historic centre of the capital. He became Valentino’s personal tailor, and was asked to make his hand-sewn collections for his High Fashion Maison and collaborates with his textile packaging companies as a consultant in the modelling and cutting department. Along with this wealth of experience in the men’s tailoring industry, Sartoria Sagripanti and Franco himself joined the National Academy of Sartori to be named Vice President of the European Chamber of High Sartoria, where Franco began a tailoring school for young people who wanted to learn the old tailoring craft. Franco is also now President of the Fontanella Borghese Association and in 2004 was awarded the illustrious title of “Master” by the mayor of Rome.
Today, company tailoring is handled by Franco’s sons Marco and Stefano who carry on the same values and traditions of their father. We are located at 27 Via Della Fontanella di Borghese, a short walk from the historic centre of Rome, close to the Trinity of the Mountains and the Spanish Steps.
